NEWSFLASH: We are now booking lessons in on Wednesdays with Sarah.

Your local friendly Riding School and Training Centre close to Sutton St James, Near Holbeach, Spalding and Wisbech. Run by myself, Sam Jamieson with Husband Ash, Daughter Emily and Assistant Sarah.

I have built this site - to give you some information about us as a Riding School and Training centre but also to increase your knowledge and capabilities. I am renowned for being able to show beginners and more experienced riders how to increase their capabilities by using simple techniques. On these pages you have direct access to some of the help and advice that I share that you can put into practice. Browse the pages for information that you can put to use immediately to grow your knowledge - and if you would like to receive our free mailing to keep you up to date with what is going on please email us.

Initially we opened the business as a livery yard but, with such an influx of enquiries for teaching we decided to change and became a riding school we gradually added more horses enabling us teach Clients of all abilities from Beginners to more advanced of which some are Instructors themselves and people bringing their own horses to us for lessons and Schooling.

My real determination is to teach people to improve and further their skills rather than a typical trot round to the back of the ride, heels down shoulders back scenario. Every rider is different and with simple explanations, tuition including covering biomechanics of horse and rider, on well trained horses and of course fun this allows you to improve your riding. We are one of the few that also gives lunge lessons.

We regularly train our horses at least three times a week to give you the most benefit, keeping their training consistent as any horse if not schooled regularly in this way can fall back in their training and become less responsive. We can quietly boast that our horses are trained up to BHS Stage 4 level so you are not limited to a low level at all and have the chance to learn even more. We have a selection of the following breeds of horses: Irish draught x Thoroughbred, Cob, Gelderlander, Warmblood x and haflinger which not only allows you to ride and handle different horses but different breeds aswell.

We have trained all our horses to work to an advanced level on the Lunge and Long Lining and we are one of a few in the UK that train their horses in Lateral Work In Hand which further helps you as a rider on the ground and riding aswell as the horse, we use Clicker Training, other Groundwork and train with Working Equitation obstacles. These of course are all available for you to learn so not only do we teach flatwork and jumping but a lot more too giving you endless skills, we even offer dismounted workshops including horse simulation.

If you have lost your confidence or have physical frustrations you are more than welcome, I am especially sympathetic due to experiencing this myself, at 22 years old I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and a few years ago broke my back and leg in a riding accident whilst working elsewhere, giving me a further understanding of losing confidence and physical issues that can cause frustration with riders.

I have been involved with animals even extending to exotics from a very young age. I have worked with many different types and breeds of horses of all ages from foals, stallions, riding school horses, happy hackers and competition horses to name but a few, giving me a vast experience and in many types of disciplines including showjumping, dressage, eventing and now also working equitation. I use various techniques both on the ground and ridden to develop partnerships and skills with each horse and rider.

Aswell as a qualified Riding Instructor through the British Horse Society I am also an Enlightened Equitation Level Two Teacher Accredited by Heather Moffett which reiterates my enthusiasm to help those interested in horses both on the ground and riding, the obvious addition to what we do, to benefit everyone even further was to become a Saddle Agent for Heather Moffett also with the Fhoenix saddle of which our horses are already using.

There are so many different options available to you, whether you have a horse of your own or not. We run various types of training including stable management, you can keep your horse with us on Schooling livery, hire our manege, canter track, showjumps and working equitation equipment, buy a Fhoenix saddle and accessories, use our finance option, come on one of our coffee mornings or one of our many courses or we can put a programme together just for you.

Lessons are available in the daytime and evenings every day except Sundays. Fhoenix saddle trials are Tuesdays and Sundays.

We are licenced by Lincolnshire County Council, fully insured and hold current child protection and professional qualification certificates.

We would love to hear from you if you have any queries, would like to chat or pop in to see us.

You may contact us in the daytime or evening on 07866 426969 or just in the evenings on 01945 440283 or please feel free to email us.

We look forward to hearing from you.
