Meet our horses.

Holly

Holly is a 15.2hh mare who was born in 2001, she loves lots of fuss and is very talkative and really enjoys her work. She was backed in 2005 but her progress was delayed due to us building the yard, my pregnancy with Emily and then unfortunately she suffered a leg injury which meant months on box rest and then sadly tweaked her tendon. Holly is now back in work again and we are working on piaffe.

Atinada

Atinada
Atinada is a lusitano mare born in 2005, she was over in Portugal with Bruno Rodrigues and is now here in her new home, she has had a well earned rest from all she had learnt in Portugal to acclimatise and settle in. Sam is now riding Atinada and hopes to get her out to some local shows very soon.

Some of the horses Sam has trained below:

Archie

Archie is our little sweetheart and is 16hh, he was unsure of people when he first arrived in 2005 and certainly did not know what a carrot or apple was, but he has grown into a lovely horse, he was also born in 2001, he really does love his cuddles and will quite happily nuzzle into you and stay there. He came to us unbacked and due to time constraints as with Holly has had quite an easy time although luckily he has not suffered any injuries. He loves his free school work and as for free jumping he loves it so much you have to be quick and run out of the way after adjusting the jump. He is very good on the lunge and longlining and his ridden work now we have been able to be consistent is coming on leaps and bounds. He has been trained by Sam and is working at Elementary/ Medium dressage level.

Orla

Orla is our 15.2hh teaching horse and was born in 1997. She was a little grumpy when she first came to us and to take a photo of her with her ears forward was an impossible task, but now as you can see she is a very happy lady, she has had beginners and more experienced riders have lessons with her and she is absolutely perfect for lunge lessons being very obedient. She has a lovely canter and and is improving her canter leg yield and flying changes, she has been trained by Sam to Elementary/Medium dressagelevel.

Ben

Ben is our other 15.2hh horse we use for teaching born in 1994, he is one in a million and perfect for all abilities whether you are a beginner or experienced rider, he is a very gentle and a friendly character. He has come on leaps and bounds since being here and is working more in collected canter, he is very easy to ride walk and trot shoulder in and leg yield and walk travers and half pass. He competed in a Working Equitation competition last year coming 2nd and is very good at demonstrating in hand work. Sam has trained him up to Elementary/Medium dressage level.

Fisher
Fish
Fish is a 15.2hh bay mare, who is ridden by Sam and staff, this photo was taken May 2009, we are working at Advanced level and I will be competing her this year.

Stan

Stan

Stan is a true star and extremely forgiving tolerating any rider. Our Daughter Emily rides Stan as much as possible aswell as sneaking rides on Ben and Orla. Stan is used mainly in childrens lessons but also for adults and is a very reliable sweet little chap. He is now learning shoulder in and leg yield in trot and loves doing side pass along poles.
